In addition to the functions, duties and powers written elsewhere in the Act and these Regulations, the functions, duties and powers of the Central Senior Citizens Welfare Committee shall be as follows:-
(a) Formulating and recommending to the Ministry the necessary policies and programs to mobilize the necessary financial resources for the plans and programs for the protection and social security of senior citizens,
(b) To guide the District Senior Citizen Welfare Committee,
(c) To review and evaluate the progress of the annual programs of the District Senior Citizen Welfare Committee (d) To encourage and support any person or organization to establish care centers, day service centers, senior citizens clubs in different districts by taking the recommendation of the District Senior Citizens Welfare Committee as per the need,
(e) Under the current law, taking the support of national and international organizations to carry out the necessary activities to make use of the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience of senior citizens,
(f) To do other necessary work in relation to enhancing reverence, respect and goodwill towards senior citizens.
